About Our Bakers!

Bakers’ Row is more than an event full of good food, people, and music. It’s an opportunity for our students to show the community what they are bringing to the table within the local community. Below, take a minute to click through our graduating students and scroll down to get a sneak peak into this coming Bakers’ Row Menu!

  • Mei Goodrich

I've had an affinity with baking since I was old enough to help my family in the kitchen. Those are some of my fondest memories and favorite moments to look back on. I came to Wake Tech to pursue my love for baking, gain skills from talented chefs, and continue the journey of connecting people through food. I am eternally grateful for how the Baking and Pastry Arts program has fed my passion and prepared me for entering the industry.

  • Jocelyn Guerrero-Aparicio

I always loved baking as a kid. I enjoy making people smile and feel loved, so I thought, "Why not combine the two?" I thank WTCC for making my dreams come true. I enjoy making people smile and feel loved by what I have I learned here.

  • Abigail Jones

I have been in the Wake Tech Baking and Pastry Program for 3 years now and I have loved every second of it. I have been baking since I was old enough to hold a whisk and help my Mom. In 2020, I discovered that pastry was not just a career for me, but it was my calling! I am so honored to be a part of Bakers’ Row and for everyone to try all the delicious pastries!

  • Cortney Morton

I have lived my life in the kitchen with my parents catering, watching my Nanny cook and bake.  But I got my love of cake decorating from my Auntie Robin. She is one of the main influences behind my home business, Buttercream and Vinyl.

  • Theta Nolan

I am excited to see the quantity of products made at Bakers’ Row; I think it’s incredible that a college department can host this kind of event on this scale.

  • Zaia O'Carroll

When I was 5 or 6 years old I told my mom when I grew up I was going to be a ballerina or a chef. I danced for 14 years and now I will graduate a chef. This program has been challenging, rewarding, exciting, frustrating, and completely incredible. I cannot wait to continue to use and build upon the tools I’ve leaned here at Wake Tech.

  • Mac Saraiva

I’m Mac from Mac Bakes Cakes. I have been running a local cottage bakery for the past two years appearing at pop up markets in Raleigh and Durham. I specialize in holiday, special occasion and seasonal baked goods offering a full bakery spread self-service style as well as custom orders. I strive to create desserts and pastries that are too pretty to eat but you have to because they taste just as good!

  • Lindsay Wride

I’m graduating this spring with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. I currently work at a wonderful bakery, GEM, where I’ve gained valuable experience. Throughout my time at Wake Tech, I learned so much and had the opportunity to grow in this field. It’s exciting to be a part of Bakers’ Row, helping to create such amazing products. I’m inspired by the creativity and dedication of my peers, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead as I continue to develop my skills in the baking world!

  • Sha'Kanah Wright

Seeing my mom spend time in the kitchen creating desserts, inspired me to give baking a try. It wasn’t my first career choice, but it has become the best choice. During my time here at Wake Tech, it has been a wonderful experience for I have learned, grown and developed my skills and will continue to strive to become a truly talented baker. I am very thankful for this program for creating everlasting memories and amazing friends.
